Helicobacter pylori can act as an immunoregulator via VacA and GGT. Both proteins induce a tolerogenic DC phenotype that can induce Tregs or Th1 cells. Among other things, the T cells have an anti-inflammatory effect via the release of IL-10 and can thus suppress the development of an allergic respiratory disease
